4Play Hires Only The Craziest And The Weirdest People

When 4Play first moved its office to Manali (HP) – a hill station in the Himalayas, the thought behind it was to establish a unique and enviable workplace. This is why the company’s entire team lives together, plays together and indeed works together too. Mandatory holidays and a 4 hour work week are just some of the norms of this unorthodox organisation.

But what’s more amusing is 4Play’s hiring policies. The company delves little in the resume of a job applicant, and gives a lot more consideration to hiring weird people. Social misfits often make the cut quite easily. The adventure content startup believes that this keeps the space creative and ever so full of interesting ideas.

Check out their crazy lineup of team members. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Anuj Khurana: This 28 year old school dropout has traveled the country without a single penny in his pocket and recently survived 30 days only on coconut water. He is also a creative lead at 4Play and has graduated in screenplay writing from the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India.

I never ever had any thought of sharing a typical before and after image of self. Lekin khud dekh raha tha kal photos, toh itta maja aaya ki daal raha ye. Day 1 to 30. And still weigh the same 😀

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Kshitij Gupta: One of the most low key guys on the team Kshitij has been an auditor by profession and holds a postgraduate degree in marketing. Despite his thorough academic credentials, he regularly surprises everyone by pulling off tricks like these:

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Sukrit Gupta: One of the co-founding members, Sukrit steers the vision for 4Play. Time and again he’ll ditch the routine to climb into high and scary places or, spend time ‘sherlocking’ around to produce investigative articles as this.

Days at the Screwed Up Fest ’18 were truly magical. I know now, where I can go as a climber. And where climbing can actually take me. Here, I am leading pitch 2 (Red) on the Big Daddy Fall. While @abhijeet_sing (Yellow) belays. PC: @bhattzigar Shout out to @gipfelclimbingequipment for keeping me equipped. And for the super slick ice screws. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Abhilash Mahajan: This tech wizard has a knack for challenges. He earns almost double his paycheck by winning bets placed with his colleagues; acing the most difficult and arduous of physically demanding tasks. Which often seem beyond his capabilities. This last winter, he climbed Khanpari Tibba, a 4000m peak, in hard snowy winter conditions. Going from base to top and back in less than 15 hours.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”3876″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”zoom”][vc_column_text]Shantanu Negi: If someone can keep a new year resolution, it is this guy. This digital marketer realised his lack of physical agility when he joined 4Play. Since then he quit consuming carbohydrates and skips 6000 counts on a daily basis.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”3892″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”zoom”][vc_column_text]Prashant Bhatt: This adventure filmmaker comes from an engineering background. Prashant manifests a strong learning by doing approach. Hence, he immerses himself fully into a sport before capturing it on camera. He climbed a 300 feet rock wall in Ladakh just to get the athlete’s perspective in a story.

The original cosmonaut educational t-shirt. Botanists approve! All the psyplants in the himalayas. For the super climber. A post shared by Pahadi (@pahadispirits) on May 19, 2016 at 6:15am PDT

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”3893″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”zoom”][vc_column_text]Himanshu Aggarwal: Quitting jobs, going against the norm and building from scratch is routine for this successful entrepreneur and MICA alumnus. At 4Play Himanshu is the prime distraction that pulls people off their chairs to the badminton court, post lunch.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”3880″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”zoom”][vc_column_text]Utkarsh Mittal: One of 4Play’s first hires, Utkarsh pulls off and holds front levers even more smoothly than he handles the camera. Working from outside the hoffice most of the time, Utkarsh produces compelling images of the outdoors.

Aditya has consumed all publically available climbing films in the world and is now working at consuming the hardest bouldering problems around our home in Manali.

It always hurts when you get up early for a summit bid. Its cold , your mind doesn’t work, face and any other exposed body part needs to covered against the cold himalayan winds. I curse myself everytime I put myself in such situations, the cursing goes on for hours but once you get down you stare at your route , not believing that suddenly an inanimate piece of stone has become part of your existence in this photograph @mahto92 @a.whale.away @jonathanparker34 and me are climbing the final ice wall of guleb kangri.. As is evident from @bislerizone bottle in the photograph I was under prepared, water froze in our bottles as we continued in a snowstorm but our psych and @jonathanparker34 ninja calmness got us to the top. # storm # ladakh #crag climbing.
