Being Fakir is a small tribute to Bhupesh Patil, a then 20-year old who has been balancing life between legs. Catch him here as he climbs, falls, struggles, succeeds … and also, DAYDREAMS! So, ‘What’s next?’
Bhupesh Patil, a resident of Nashik and an engineering student, took up this sport at the age of 18. He won India’s first ever Slackline Championship last year. The video is a journey of an eccentric stripling who dedicatedly immersed himself into sports like rock climbing, slack and high lining. When the scene of climbing and other allied adventure sports in India was just evolving, Bhupesh made a firm resolution to speed it up and be a game changer. Several years have passed since then and along with a few like-minded and passionate individuals he is getting closer to his vision with each day.
Slacklining in India as a sport is witnessing some soaring figures over the years in terms of its practitioners. Even Highlining is following in its footsteps with some undaunted athletes continuously striving to raise the bar little higher than before. Highlining, being an extreme balance sport, leaves no margin for error. High liners would always strive to balance the equation of ‘ERROR=ERROR 404’, if they were to pull off some amazing high line tricks or walk in a void between cliffs.
Stay tuned for more jaw dropping action!
