Just 4Playin’

Born to a gaddi couple, in an obscure village in Tungnath, I had more responsibilities to carry out than I could imagine as an oblivious infant. Being a mountain child, chasing off cattle herds, binging on delicious meat, enjoying deep slumber on the hay in a barn and defending my turf from other shepherd dogs, is how I imagined my life to be.

Little did I know that my life would turn out to be ineffably different [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”722″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]

Take it from me, my life is tough yo! Running a company, is not a game that all and sundry can play or even muster up the courage to do so. Not that I asked for it but someone had to!

I love outdoors, who doesn’t? But can you go hiking 10 kms and back, chase Monals (Himalayan Pheasant) into thick bushes on the way and still want more? I did! [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”68″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]

My foster parents are a bunch of crazy dudes, If one has a fetish for running and climbing, the other is a vagabond who wants to travel Norway. The third is a gone case altogether, who wants to try different acrobats every now and then. Big Show off I’d say!

For a fact, I knew that I was born to Base Jump with Sukrit one day. We always imagined ourselves as Whisper and Dean from When Dogs Fly.

Soon enough Sukrit came up with this crazy-a** idea of starting up an online video channel that featured all extreme action stories majorly from the East. He roped in Anuj and Kshitij as well. I was intimidated by the three. It felt like, I was playing Courage the Cowardly Dog, biting off my nails, cornered against the wall and covered by tall dark shadows of three ghosts.

Did I have a choice you ask? NO. None at all but this is the best these guys had come up with in a while. It was one melodramatic situation. Sukrit was smart. He touched on the exact nerves that made me tick. Would you say no to building up a community of outdoor enthusiasts who want adventure sports in India to grow? Would you say no to becoming the first online video channel for extreme sports in India? Hell no. How could I?

I knew that this wouldn’t be easy. Guarding our office in Manali, eating sleeping and motivating these guys and the continually expanding team would be difficult to juggle with other administrative work.

True to my gaddi instincts, I am impulsive and decided to accompany them on this long, arduous walk. As it turned out, the walk has only been a hike at this foster home called 4Play.in and there is no coming back. Now if any one of the three goes lost chasing Monals in the bushes, I get them on the track.
