Review: Woodland Dual Layer Climbing Jacket

The adventure sports apparel industry is yet to realise its full potential in India. Even so, various brands in this industry are slowly but surely experimenting with newer forms and styles of outdoor wear to suit the needs and necessities of the Indian climate. Here’s a look at what the new Woodland Windproof Jacket has to offer.

  1. The lightweight Woodland Windproof Jacket consists of two layers – a soft inner layer and a tough outer shell.

  2. The inner layer is made of spun fleece which keeps the body warm and lends a supple quality to the garment. Moreover, the fleece has an intrinsic moisture wicking property that keeps dampness at bay.

  3. With pockets on either side of the zip front, the fleece layer makes for a snug, comfortable fit.

  4. The full sleeved inner layer comes with a high collar to protect the neck and provides for additional support to the neck of the outer shell.

  5. The rugged outer layer of the Woodland Windproof Jacket is made of patented windproof technology that makes use of interwoven microfibers to protect from wind chill and moisture.

  6. The inside seams of the outer layer are taped over, in addition to being stitched, to protect from wind as well as light rain or snow.

  7. Large pockets on either side of the zip front double up as ventilation portals to keep the air circulation going. There is a similar provision for zipped vents under the arms.

  8. The long durable sleeves are equipped with adjustable cuffs at the wrist to suit the requirements of the user.

  9. The sturdy hoodie and turtleneck collar of the outer jacket can be adjusted to pack in warmth and protect oneself from testing weather conditions.

The unique selling point of the Woodland Windproof Jacket is that the two layers are entirely detachable from each other. Either can be used independent of the other. Design and function fuse together in this multilayered windbreaker jacket, applying a pragmatic approach to choice of attire for testing weather conditions. At INR 8950, the Woodland Windproof Jacket, with its high breathability quotient, proves to be a good investment for adventure sportsmen and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
