This Clothing Company Will Transform Indian Outdoor Travel

A revolutionary clothing company is taking birth in Mumbai. Based on the vedic philosophy of Koshas, which propounds Maslow’s hierarchy like layers to a human being, Kosha as a brand envisages a user’s ascension to ultimate happiness through travel (supported by their thoughtful product design). Recently the brand launched the Bamboo Merino Thermals. A star from their all-weather travel clothing collection. The thermals double up as T-shirts. Thermals form a vital base layer as part of your winter layering attire and Kosha thermals are blended with merino wool, bamboo and a minimal percentage of spandex which brings in stretch-ability making these a perfect fit for movement. Bamboo takes away the itchiness of wool. The thermals are temperature regulated and are suitable for temperatures as varied as 15 degrees celsius to sub zero.’ says Yuktie Jhangiani, founder of Kosha. The clothing company is committed to the doctrine of reduce, reuse, recycle. Yuktie explains, ‘To ensure our commitment to environment, we lead a sustainable life, we consume consciously i.e. only buy products that we truly need. And we even emphasize selling products that a particular person will need for their trip and not more.’

‘Our garments are being sourced as locally as possible, to reduce the consumption of fuel during transportation. The Repair Shop is an initiative to repair worn out products for free, to reduce excessive consumption and untimely discard. Our garments are very durable and hence clients will be encouraged to use them longer rather than buying new garments’, Yuktie emphasizes. In a country where adventure travel is still nascent. And most enthusiasts still have a limited exposure to outdoor, with limited awareness of traditional methods such as sahib style expeditioneering. Kosha is leading the way with a product range tuned to the demands of the ultra light movement. ‘A lighter gear or clothing makes your experience in difficult terrains much more enjoyable. We are a big supporter of the ultra light movement and, it is also something that motivates us to design lighter, technically advanced and beautiful travel clothing’, expounds Yuktie. Kosha’s Puffer Jackets weighs less than 500 gm and is perfect for outdoor indulgence in temperatures as low as -5°. Similarly keeping the specific requirements of professional trekkers in mind, Kosha Merino Bamboo Thermals are a perfect replacement for 4 t-shirts and additional 2-3 thermals which only adds to the weight of your baggage. The thermals reduce the pack weight by half and, that is the level of intelligent gear packing every trekker intends to achieve. The brand emphasises on a work culture truly immersed in the outdoors. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

The brand is making a great start by unveiling their collection this June, 2017. They’ve even got a major experiential retail outlet coming up in Mumbai. Kosha intends to cut down on your pack weight and environmental footprint, adding only happiness to your outdoor excursions.
